Passengers looking for a seamless connection between Toronto and Yellowknife will be pleased to know that such choices are finally available after flag carrier Air Canada announced it would begin non-stop flight services between the two cities this December. As the cherry on top, this new convenient connection between eastern Canada and the capital of the Northern Territories will be available all year round.

Another Yellowknife service from Air Canada

Scheduled to commence on December 1st this year, non-stop and year-round flight services between Toronto Pearson International Airport and Yellowknife Airport. Air Canada will deploy its Canadian-made Airbus A220-300s for this new route to boast 12 seats in business class and 125 seats in economy class. With a thrice-weekly frequency, the airline will ferry approximately 411 passengers to Yellowknife every week.

Increasing air transportation options for the Northern Territories

With Air Canada’s new route this December, passengers will have an easier air transportation option to visit Yellowknife and beyond, especially when the Northern Lights will likely be on full display. Donna Lee Demarcke, Chief Executive Officer of the Northwest Territories Tourism, highlighted:

And aside from supporting tourism to the city and the Nothern region, the new route will also be of value to a different group of travelers, as it links Yellowknife directly to Canada’s financial capital. This means businesses and professional organizations have easier access to the Northern Territories to enable the potential growth of current and new economic markets.
